PF4 Fluoride Filters
PF-4™ Filter – Advanced Water Filtration
The PF-4™ reduction elements are designed for use with Doulton™ ceramic filtration elements, providing superior adsorption of common contaminants found in drinking water. These filters ensure cleaner, safer water by targeting harmful elements and compounds.
Features
- Designed for use with Royal Doulton™ and Berkefeld™ Filters only.
- Effectively reduces MTBE, fluoride, lead, arsenic, and other contaminants.
- Enhances filtration efficiency when used in gravity-fed systems.
- Compatible with stoneware filters and British Berkefeld Stainless Steel Systems.
- Must be used in conjunction with a Doulton Supersterasyl Ceramic Filter.
Contaminants Reduced The PF-4™ filters are engineered to adsorb the following contaminants:
- MTBE (Methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether) – Exceeds ANSI/NSF Standard 53, reducing MTBE by more than 95%.
- Fluoride – Achieves a 95% reduction under testing conditions and over 99.75% under optimal conditions.
- Lead – Reduces lead levels by 99%, from 150-200 ppb to less than 1 ppb.
- Arsenic – Targets both arsenic oxide anions and arsenic cations.
- Additional contaminants:
- DBCP (Dibromo-chloro-propane)
- THMs (Trihalomethanes)
- Herbicides & Pesticides
- Heavy Metal Ions
Fluoride Filtration Efficiency
- Tested at 20-30 ppm in influent water with a flow rate of 3 gpm (11 lpm) per cubic foot of media.
- Standard Australian town water supply contains approximately 1 ppm of fluoride.
- These filters provide maximum efficiency due to extended media contact time in gravity-fed systems.
Replacement Guidelines
-
Each PF-4™ element should be replaced after 1,000 litres (or 2,000 litres if using two elements).
- Estimated replacement timeline:
- Every 6 months if consuming 5 litres per day with 1 filter & 1 element.
- Every 12 months if using a system with 2 filters & 2 elements.
- Lifespan depends on source water quality, particularly levels of fluoride, arsenic, and heavy metals.

Why Should You Filter Your Water?
Chlorine is widely used to disinfect water supplies, eliminating harmful bacteria that can cause disease. However, our gut is home to trillions of beneficial bacteria essential for digestion, nutrient absorption, and immune support. These microbes also play a crucial role in the gut-brain connection through the vagus nerve, with research suggesting that poor gut health may contribute to neurological conditions. Filtering your water is vital for overall well-being. If you’re consuming probiotic-rich foods to support gut health, unfiltered chlorinated water may be undermining your efforts.
