Heritage Store Castor Oil is cold-pressed, hexane-free, and organic, offering a pure and nutrient-dense formulation.

Rich in history and versatility, castor oil is a thick, odourless oil derived from the seeds of the castor plant. Used since ancient Egypt, it’s prized for its natural content of Vitamin E, Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids, and especially ricinoleic acid—a fatty acid known for its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.

Castor oil may help soothe dry skin and scalp, and is often used in hair care routines to moisturize and nourish. While it’s commonly promoted for supporting hair growth and reducing dandruff, scientific evidence is limited. It can also be used in castor oil packs—cloths soaked in the oil—applied to the skin to help relieve constipation, joint stiffness, or menstrual cramps.

Due to its potency, castor oil may irritate sensitive skin. Always patch test first and consider diluting it with a neutral oil before use. Not recommended for those allergic to the castor plant.
